ABOUT US

We first moved to St Ives in 2011, having enjoyed many happy holidays here and have not looked back since. We were glad to wave goodbye to air pollution and overcrowding and say hello to clean Atlantic air, a quieter and healthy pace of life, abundant wildlife and stunning coastal scenery.

We had two main priorities when hunting for our new home. It had to be walking distance to the surf and have a garden, as one of us is a keen bodyboarder and the other is a gardener. We were fortunate to find just the right place and now we’d like to share it with you!
Ebb St Ives is a modern detached property that faces east across St Ives Bay and is filled with the brilliant morning sun. It is situated at the end of a quiet residential cul-de-sac and is just a 10-minute walk away from the beautiful golden beaches and the hustle and bustle of the town and harbour, with its quaint little shops, cafes and art galleries. If you don’t fancy walking, there is a regular bus service that climbs the hill from the town and passes the end of our cul-de-sac. As parking spaces are extremely limited in St Ives, we can offer you free parking on our driveway during your stay.
From the master guest suite, there are far reaching sea views over the rooftops of the town and across St Ives Bay to Godrevy lighthouse and beyond. For literary lovers, Godrevy lighthouse was the inspiration behind Virginia Woolf’s classic novel “To The Lighthouse”. Just beneath your window is our private garden, which we have planted with rambling roses, lavenders and swishing bamboo.
Shortly after we arrived we adopted a little rescue dog. He remains a little nervous, which is why, sadly, we cannot accept other dogs to stay in the house. He is not allowed into the guest suite.

We love walking the many beautiful walks that we can do from our doorstep and some that are a short drive away. We often see seals swimming in the coves and sometimes even a school of dolphins. There are many different types of sea bird wheeling above the surging swell, as well as other rare migrating birds. Depending on the time of year, there is a wealth of wild coastal flowers including the stunning pink thrift, orchids and tiny blue sea squill, as well as native butterflies and dragonflies. If you enjoy walking, we can tell you about some of our favourite walks which tend to be off the beaten track.

So whether you are a beach lover, a keen walker, an art appreciator, or a foodie – whatever you are, ebb st ives offers you the perfect place to enjoy your stay.
